Why need measure the traffic road markings color?

Traffic road markings are used on paved roadways to provide guidance and information to drivers and pedestrians. Different road markings colors provide different information. Its color can be white, yellow, red or black. Uniformity of the road markings is an important factor in minimizing confusion. Today we will introduce how to measure its color with CHNSpec color measuring meter CS-600C.

According to the international standard, traffic road markings need be measured by the instrument with 45/0 geometry and D65 light source. Color measuring meter CS-600C can well meet both standards. It is a very good choice for customer.

How to measure traffic road markings color?

Step 1. Calibrate the instrument

Put the instrument on the calibration tile. White tile is for white calibration and black cavity is for black calibration.

Step 2. Set Parameter on software

Set the observer angle and light source from “Setup-Standard Observer and illumination-D65 and 2 degree”

Step 3.Choose “measure operate-traffic signs measurement”

Step 4. Choose the material we need to measure from “standard-safety colous-common material”, this time we will choose common material.

Step 5. Measure sample, choose “sample-measuring” we can measure sample color for once measurement.

After measurement, instrument can tell X,Y,Z,x,y and luminance value directly on software. Sample color position will also show on software. Instrument also supports 20000 samples storage and samples saved in instrument can be transfer into software and generate test report.
